Current Style without Guide Lug
Tie a knot in rope and pull tight. Manipulate knot with
needlenose pliers (2) so it can be pulled down into knot
cavity (1), Fig. 15.

Replace Rewind Assembly
(For Engines 5 HP & Up)
1. If original starter housing is spot welded to blower
housing, drill out spot welds using a 3/16” (4.8 mm)
diameter drill. ONLY drill deeply enough to loosen
spot welds.
2. Locate replacement rewind assembly in desired
position and drill mounting holes.
3. Install screws from inside blower housing up
through starter housing mounting leg.
4. Fasten securely with nuts as shown in Fig. 16.

Inspect and clean starter clutch assembly as
necessary. Do not oil ball cavity area (3).
Ratchet (1), check for wear at (2).
